Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel proclaims November 6th, 2011 ”Blue Star Connection Day”

“WHEREAS, Blue Star Connection, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing musical instruments to children and young adults fighting life challenging situations, has given the gift of music since 2005; and

WHEREAS, to date, Blue Star Connection has reached hundreds of children and given instruments to 15 children’s hospital music therapy programs, including it’s most recent donation of September 2011 to Chiacgo’s Children’s Memorial Hospital; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. John Catt, founder of Blue Star Connection, will be in the City of Chicago for this event; and

WHEREAS, this event will continue to bring the joy of music to children and young adults across America; and

WHEREAS, Chicago and music, especially the blues, have long been entwined, enriching experience in human life:

NOW, THEREFOR, I, RAHM EMANUEL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, do hereby proclaim November 6, 2011 to be BLUE STAR CONNECTION DAY IN CHICAGO, and join the Blue Star Connection Community and its Chicago network in acknowledge its founder, Mr. Catt, other Blue Star Connection leaders, and most of all, the children and young adults — the “Blue Stars” — who embrace the music when its needed the most.”
