Hy My Name is Yosef Eliezrie , I am 22.I like listening to music, building websites, art, and all the regular young adult stuff. I live in yosef.jpgYorba Linda, Ca, and I was diagnosed with Acute Mylogenous Leukemia (Cancer of The Blood and Bone Marrow), in July 2005 while on a summer teaching mission in Vilnius, Lithuania. I immediately returned to the US and started High Dose Chemo. They looked for a bone marrow match for a bone marrow transplant, but could not find a match.Within a few days of arriving home and starting treatment things went down hill, and i could not breath on my own. I was put on life support and put into a coma for 8 days until by a miracle of G-d i got a little better. i spent 13 days in the ICU and six weeks recovering. I continued receiving the rest of the 4 rounds of chemo (a total of 5), and after many infections, I finished the chemo in April 2006. In August of that year, I went for a check up with my doc who looked at my labs and told me something looked wrong he told me to come back on monday (It was a friday) where he than told me, that the Cancer was back. I had another round of Chemo and a nasty fungal infection followed by a a few weeks rest. On October 19th 2006 i had a Bone Marrow Transplant from a unrelated donor. A perfect match. I am currently recovering and trying to get back to normal life.

You could say i am a music addict. the whole time I was sick, I used music to get me through the hardest of times. In fact when I was in the coma, I had dream about my sibling’s talking about playing music in my room in the ICU, which it turned out later that they actually did! During my illness, I a had a few famous Jewish Music Artists come to see me in the hospital, and was very influenced by them to start playing. I always wanted to get into The Guitar, which is a instrument I enjoy very much.

Thank You Blue Star For getting me back into my passion of music.
Rock On
Yosef
